Very interesting ideas, thanks for your video. There is definitely an aesthetics of the apocalypse going on, but I never thought of it as a question against monumentality, it's very interesting, and it relates very very well to your post about Richard Serra, which I found incredibly interesting too. It just made me wonder about Tracey Emin huge mother sculpture, when they installed it I did a big eye roll but later I couldn't pinpoint why it provoked this reaction in me. It feels out of scale, but also out of time. But then why this monumentality doesn't bother me in Wangechi Mutu sculptures, for instance?? Funny. Thanks for your posts, I really enjoy them! :)
